With the price of every new game being $59.99, it’s safe to say that not every gamer can afford every new game. Johnny composed a list of 5 titles that many gamers overlooked. While not exactly new titles, what we're doing here at Nerdiest Cookie is giving you the viewers a different choice. Don’t let their release dates fool you, each title that will be revealed (once a week) deserves the attention of every gamer. Now at a reduced price, these titles are easily going to give you that bang for your buck.

Rayman Origins. (PS3/Xbox 360/Wii/3DS/PSP Vita/PC.)

A stroll down nostalgia lane.

Rayman Origins is a blast from the past video game that takes you right back to the roots of platforming games. You have cartoony graphics, quirky characters, crazy baddies and a truck load of levels to sink your teeth into. So what makes this game worth dusting off your old plumber overalls and taking it back a few notches? I'll tell you one thing, it isn't something to strap on a super soaker to your back and clean up a tropical paradise. Rayman Origins is hands down one of the best platform games I have ever played mainly for the soul fact that you can do just about anything in it.

simplicity and sheer entertainment.

You got punching, smacking, gliding, wall jumping, boss killing, coin collecting, reward getting, secret character unlocking antics that are sure to keep you glued to that screen. As if you were a kid in elementary school playing hooky to play that new Sonic the Hedgehog game (hey I had problems ok?). See now I'm the kind of guy who loves me some platformers from time to time, I consider myself a platform aficionado. What if you aren't really big on them or you are but haven't played them in a long time? Well how could I forget mentioning the awesome 4 player multiplayer co-op? You have 4 unique characters (plus all their unlock-able colors/costumes) and players can jump in and out of the game at any time. Having that ability to join without screwing up mister big shot who's hogging the tv is something most games lack these days.

Everything's better with friends.

You never get held back by other players, because you can just annoy them and drag them along the screen. Similar to littlebigplanet's co-op, you can smack them into a group of baddies and or spike pits just to get them to start hustling. Or you can be one of those nice guys and wait for everyone, to help them out only to find yourself dead along with the rest of them! Get these ninnies some tissues and crush this pity party, it's time to fight some of the biggest baddest bosses you have ever seen in a platformer. I'm talking take up most of the screen and send you home crying to mommy bosses. These guys will literally take you by the hair, drag you across the black top and make you say uncle till their heart's content and keep you coming back for more and more every time.

Final thoughts.

All and all I say pick this game up. Whether it be for multiplayer lovers, the platform fans, the artsy fartsy hipsters, or the little kiddies there is something for everyone to enjoy. This action packed game may to some people seem decades to late (I say it's just in time).Buy it, own it, and love it. You shalt not soon forget this tale I promise you.

  • Amazingly detailed worlds
  • Lots of collectables
  • Great multiplayer
  • Fun boss fights
  • Beautiful art style

  • Can be repetitive
  • Single player isn't as fun as multiplayer
  • No replay value after finding collectables
